It is classified as follows:
Soft: 0 to 60 ppm of calcium and magnesium
Moderate: 61 to 120 ppm
Hard: 121 to 180 ppm
Very Hard: over 180 ppm
Almost all eco-friendly fumigation treatments should be carried out at around pH 6.5, which makes the use of lemon juice essential; in fact, different pH levels can greatly affect the treatment’s effectiveness.
Concentrated lemon juice has a pH of 2.2 (vinegar is around 3), so the amounts applied for correction are minimal; in any case, it depends on the type of water, the pH we need to achieve, and the initial pH we start with. All of this leads us to conclude that this process should always be controlled using a pH meter or controller.
APPLICATION METHOD
The acid is usually injected after the filter to prevent corrosion, except if it is made of polyethylene.
DOSAGE
pH correction: The amount of acid to be used depends on the chemical characteristics of the irrigation water, so a pH meter should be used throughout the process until the desired level is achieved, always measuring at the ends of the hose.
Pipe cleaning: 500 ml per cubic meter.
